Biography
Carmyn Robey-Robinson
Carmyn Robey, a proud graduate of Pearland High School’s Class of 2007, served as class president and demonstrated leadership skills early on. She went on to attend Howard University in Washington, D.C., where she majored in Computer Science and served as president of the College of Engineering. A distinguished member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Carmyn’s academic achievements included being a U.S. Steel Scholarship recipient.
Her passion for health and wellness began during her own journey, as she lost over 150 pounds during her childhood, igniting her drive to combat childhood obesity. She was featured in Black Enterprise Magazine and appeared on The Dr. Oz Show, sharing her story of resilience and her mission to address bullying and childhood nutrition.
Professionally, Carmyn has spent the last decade excelling as a software developer. In addition to her career, she dedicates her time to her community, teaching youth about the importance of nutrition and healthy living. As a founding member of SuburbanEatsHTX, she highlights and supports overlooked restaurants and businesses in suburban communities, promoting local growth and awareness.
Carmyn is a wife, a mother to a vibrant 3-year-old son, and a proud suburban enthusiast. Known for her resourcefulness, determination, and ability to execute plans with precision, she embodies ambition and commitment in every facet of her life. Carmyn continues to inspire those around her through her leadership, advocacy, and unwavering dedication to making a positive impact.
